Fine by 2009: Week 8

We are getting really close to the halfway point in this challenge.

YIKES!!

I realize that there really is no ending point and that this really needs to be lifestyle change, not a short-term thing.  I just wish I was making better progress and seeing more results.

I took a few weeks off to celebrate my birthday.  Luckily, the scale gods were gentle with me and when I got on today, after eating terribly and ZERO exercise, I hadn’t gained any of the weight back. Thank you scale gods.

This week’s goals:

-Get to sleep by 11:30-12  (Mon-Fri)

-Workout at least 4 days (Govt says we should be getting 2 1/2 hours a week according to this study)

-Eat 2 fruits a day (should be more but I’m shooting low since I really don’t love fruit)

Since I didn’t have my linky up last week, I want to point out a couple of posts that you need to go and read and comment on:

Susan from the Psych Ward wrote Growing up Fat–A great post about body image.

Make sure to go over and cheer on Shannon at Simply Shannon who has lost 10.5 pounds since starting the challenge! Way to go Shannon!!  She is doing something right!

Maybe I took a week off to celebrate your birthday, too, that makes it sound supportive and not just lazy…

I think I am officially the slacker of the week.

    Must try harder.

I’m down 7 pounds but I’ve started slacking. I want to lose at least 3 or 4 more this week before my man gets back in town so I can make his jaw drop at the airport. Of course I say this with 6 sweet potato tartlets in the oven. OI hope my neighbors better like sweet potato!

So glad you didn’t gain… this week is hubby’s birthday and I’m scared… look at me making my excuses early… but wait. First, his mom is a terrible cook and always orders out for birthdays, this time it’s Olive Garden(yum) and of course, a cake (YUM)… second, I will cook a favorite meal for his actual birthday, shrimp scampi and make an apple pie (another fav) So, I’ll have to kick it up a notch this week!

Congrats on no gaining this week – birthdays are totally meant to be celebrated! I’m very impressed with your goal-setting each week. I think it’s awesome, I love making small goals like that, then I celebrate each little thing I achieve.

My Dr. wants me to lose weight and scheduled a follow up in January after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years :( This won’t be good!

I lost another .7 lbs this week…what is it with this number? But, I won’t complain because it went down and not up (like I thought it would since I ate terrible and did not exercise). I want to say I’m going to exercise this week, but I won’t lie to you or myself, I won’t have time. WAY too many things on the calendar for one week…actually, next week looks pretty busy too:)
