First Time For Everything

For the past few nights, I have been trying to get into bed before midnight (ok, so I know for most people this is still really late, but trust me when I say this is progress).  Let me tell you, I’ve noticed some really interesting side effects, but most notably, I’m not tired the next day.  Imagine that!

I’m doing this because it is a part of my goal for the Looking Fine by 2009 Challenge.  The first two bloggers to take the plunge and join me in this challenge by posting about it on their blog are Jen at Momma Blogs Alot and Becks at Little Miss Pearsonality.  Please take a minute to go over and cheer them on.

You’ll notice their links are on my sidebar under the banner.  I hope to add to this list daily, so please let me know if you put your post up.  How is everyone doing with their goals?  I’m doing well with the diet, sleep and water, but can’t seem to wrap my mind around the exercise part.  I keep thinking, oh I would work out if I belonged to a gym.  Or, I’d work out if I had elliptical machine.  Or, I’d work out if I could find a dvd that was really fun.  Excuses, excuses, excuses.  I just need to DO IT!!!  If I could burn calories by making excuses I’d look like Jennifer Aniston by now.

For the first time ever, I’m guest posting over at someone else’s blog.  Let me tell you, I nearly had a stroke trying to figure out something to write about that wouldn’t be about Ryan Gosling boring.  The most pressure came from the fact that the blogger who asked me to write a post was none other than McMommy herself.  She is one of my favorite bloggers of all time (by all time I mean the past 2 years that I’ve been reading blogs).  I pretty much love every post she does.

I stressed about it for days, but then I remembered that you should always write about what you know and what you are most passionate about.  I didn’t think McMommy’s readers would appreciate my love of Gosling.  I know about Disney World, but again, not exactly McMommy material (although she used to work for Disney–how awesome is that!!).  I could write about how much I love my family, but again, nobody wants to read that. They’d just end up hating me for being a big ole bragger.

What else am I obsessed with?  It finally hit me–  Blogging!

My guest post is all about the trouble you can get into when you start blogging.  If you are a non-blogger, you will not understand any of this.

So, click on over to read The Stages of Blog Addiction.  Oh, but before you go, leave a comment here or else I’ll get the shakes.  You wouldn’t want to be responsible for that, now would you?

Good luck with your challenge. I decided I can’t stop eating junk or drinking beer until these crazy people I live with are out of the house and on their own.

I’m doing pretty good with the sleep thing (and my “bedtime” is 11 now), fairly good with the “diet” until after the son goes to bed… and the water great. The exercise. Yeah I did that once… haha

I am headed over there right now. What an honor… guest posting on the McMommy Chronicles. Dreamy. I did my first guest post about a week ago and it was the scariest thing I have ever done. I don’t mind messing up my own blog, but somebody else’s? Yikes. The other paranoia (sp?) that set in was, “Will anyone leave a comment?” Okay… I am on my way. And I will leave a comment. No worries.

I am doing really well with eating…I have been tracking my calories and have kept it to a reasonable amount. It’s amazing how fast it adds up. Even ‘healty’ food like a granola bar, pudding, yogurt, raisins, nuts, juices etc that I was snacking on added up to hundreds of calaries a day. Also, I got the Wii Fit! It is awesome! When I can get the kids off of it, I really enjoy the games and I really do get a workout. The best part is not realizing your getting a workout. I did a big no-no and did a body test 2 days in a row (you’re only supposed to do it once a week), but I lost .4 lbs. (be sure to notice the decimal .4 lbs, not 4 lbs!) in that day and it was really exciting for me to see PROGRESS in the right direction.

You nailed the blog addiction spectrum perfectly. Are you going to start a 12 step program? I’m thinking I’d have withdrawls with in a week. Gotta have just one more fix.

I went to bed before 1 a.m. last night, which is greatly improved over the few weeks before! I also skipped dessert yesterday even when my husband offered to STOP and BUY ME ICE CREAM. And… if I hurry real quick like, I’ll be going to bed “early” 2 nights in a row! *Running off… quick like*

    Oops.
I forgot that I was supposed to write a post.
I will get right on it.
I am not doing so well, I think I need a written plan.
    A course of action.
You, my dear, are doing great!

I am off to read your post.

You stop actually talking to people because anything they need to know can be found on your blog anyway. Plus, talking takes away precious blogging time.

I’ve actually found this to be true for me..Some of my sentences actually start with, “Did you read my blog? Cause I wrote all about it in there” or “Oh, just go to my blog to read it…It’s all there”

Hee…but blogging is addictive! Especially when you get to meet the nicest people who comment on your blog regularly! *nudgesThismeansoyou!nudges*
