Friday Eye Candy: Hot Chef Edition
As you know, I’m always taking suggestions for Eye Candy lists. I love this because there are some ideas that I would have never thought of and this week’s list is no exception.
Recently, I got the following email from one of my readers, “M”:
I don’t have a blog, so I can’t make a list of my Friday Eye Candy. But I think you should do a feature on celebrity chefs. There are some that are not hot (Emeril, that guy from Ace of Cakes…) but some that definitely are.
I don’t watch a lot of cooking shows but after composing this list I’m thinking that I may need to change that. Here are M’s picks (and a few of mine added in) for hottest celebrity chefs:
Curtis Stone, host of Take Home Chef

Dave Lieberman, host of Food Network’s Good Deal

Danny Boome, Host of Food Network’s Rescue Chef.

Tom Colicchio, head judge on Top Chef and owner of Craft

Jamie Oliver, The Naked Chef (What does this mean? Does anyone know?)

Aaron Sanchez, owner of Paladar and contestant on The Next Iron Chef

Gordon Ramsay, host of Hell’s Kitchen

Fabio Viviani, owner of Cafe Firenze and current contestant on Top Chef

Rocco DiSpirito, Host of Rocco Gets Real on A&E

Sam Talbot, owner of The Surf Lodge and season 2 contestant on Top Chef

Did I forget anyone?
Aloha Friday Questions:
-Which of these sexy chefs (or other celebrity chefs) would you like to see whipping up a tasty meal in your kitchen?
-Who does the cooking in your family?
-Do you like to cook? Do you consider yourself a good cook?

Got something to say?

oh man. Jamie Oliver is great. I don’t think the Naked Chef is on anymore. He’s doing Jamie Cooks or something like that on Saturday mornings, I think. He’s the first chef on tv that really has inspired me and I look up to. His main goals right now are to teach troubled inner city children how to cook so they can rise above their background. What’s better than that?
I also love Alton Brown, cause I’m a big nerd. I just don’t think he’s sexy.
I do all the cooking in our family, and I’m an amazing cook. I might have missed my calling in life, but I love fashion design too much to be a chef. Plus, who wants to come home smelly every night? Not me! So, I remain a stay at home cook…but I think I’d love to get into some small catering gigs…(not that I don’t have enough going on with 2 kids, no daycare, a retail store, a web design business, roller derby, and a house to maintain.)

To be honest, the only two chefs I recognised out of that lot were the two British chefs – Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay. I find Jamie Oliver to be incredibly irritating, and I don’t see the attraction to Ramsay but out of the two I’d pick Gordon Ramsay. He seems to be an interesting character to have around.
It’s my husband who does the cooking in our house unless he’s working late (lately seems like this is the norm!) And no, I’m not a great cook. I’m too impatient, I throw things together, whereas N takes time over dishes and puts more effort into it.

Ooooooooooh, me likey Sam. Just Sam…All Sam…All the time.

Jamie Oliver has a cuteness about him that I think goes with his personality. I think he is so hot because he is funny. That works for me. My husband often does a lot of our cooking at our house.

Jamie Oliver is the most fun and the one who wouldn’t make me nervous, he just seems much more approachable. Definitely him. Plus we could chat about his adorable children and his wife’s gorgeous clothing line

Jamie Oliver, Danny Boome & Dave Lieberman are all welcome to my kitchen any time – but to warn them, the space will be a bit cramped and there may be some invasion of personal space…
My husband and I have a pretty even split of cooking but lately he’s the star chef of the house – most of my cooking is pretty typical weeknight dinners, nothing to get worked up over – I hope it doesn’t last forever!
I do like to cook and can cook well but I’ve been a bit lazy in the cooking department for longer than I care to admit.

Oh ma gosh, where’s Tyler Florence??? ;O

Rocco DiSpirito is my favorite. I don’t recognize a lot of the others.
I do the cooking in my home.
There are days that I love to cook and lol, some that I don’t.

I typically don’t watch many cooking shows but I have caught a few episodes of Take home Chief & Curtis Stone’s accent is lovely!
Gordon Ramsey is just too angry & I don’t know any of the others.

Rocco is my favorite. I was really impressed with him on Dancing with the Star and The Biggest Loser.
My hubby does the cooking in my family. I do not really like to cook, but love to bake.
[Reply]
I love Rocco DiSpirito! He can come cook in my kitchen anytime;o) I also really like Bobby Flay.
I guess I do most of the cooking, although my husband is probably the better cook. I am a pretty lazy cook and do not really enjoy it.

Can I pick Dave, Jamie and Rocco? Now there’s a trio…
Dh does most of the cooking. I CAN cook, I just don’t. He cooks, I bake.

Sam Talbot looks mighty fine, though I can’t remember seeing him in action. Second choice is Jamie Oliver for his great personality. He’d really keep a party going! Dave Lieberman is cute bust seems a little shy. I was madly in love with Tyler Florence from Food 911 but notsomuch lately.
I enjoy cooking. My husband is a wonderful host and makes THE BEST Bloody Marys and Cosmopolitans. He can also grill chicken and carve a turkey like a pro but that’s about it.
I try my best to get my 3 sons interested in cooking but first you have to enjoy eating. My younger 2 still opt for fast food over a gourmet meal. The 13 year old is infatuated with sushi and thinks “gourmet” is allspice on his porkroll sandwich, his own invention. (Porkroll is a Jersey shore food. Most people in PA have never even heard of it.)
A man who cooks. What more could you want?

You know, to be honest, the guy could have two heads and weigh 300 pounds. If he’s cooking for me, I’ll be all over him like press n’ seal glad wrap.
[Reply]
Uh, where is Todd English?
I would include him but that’s just me. I concur will all the hotness displayed here though!
[Reply]
I’ll take them all please and maybe add Tyler Florence. Maybe they could have a hot chef cookoff in my kitchen!
[Reply]
I was going to say Tyler Florence and Alton and looks like your faithful readers came through.
Alton is just so smart and nerdy yet sexae in his own way.
Tyler just seems like a sweetheart and a cutie.

You missed someone! My husband!
(Ok, so he’s a chef, just not a celebrity. Yet.)
Also, I’d like to add that Geof Manthorne from Ace of Cakes is adorable!
[Reply]
I have no idea who he is, but Fabio can come over and cook me breakfast, lunch and dinner any day! Whew! The others don’t do much for me. Sorry.
[Reply]
Can they be naked???
I cant cook, its throw in the micorwave easy prepared food!! So any chef cooking for me would be a treat!
[Reply]
Naked Chef was a reference to him using simple ingredients, not his lack of clothing… unfortunately.
Curtis is annoying,
Dave is gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that)
Danny- Un watchable
Tom and Jamie are my faves and yes you forgot Tyler Florence.
I’m a Super Foodie haven’t you read?

My favorite sexy chef is my husband! He does all the cooking! I am a kitchen nightmare….
[Reply]
You missed Anthony Bourdain. I like him alot and enjoyed the show Kitchen Confidential patterned after him.
[Reply]
Rocco is my pick. He is the nicest person and so cute. We share the cooking in my house, probably because I hate doing it so i refuse to be the only one doing it.
[Reply]
I do most of the cooking, but Dh does it at least twice a week. I love to cook and I can hold my own, but just don’t ask me to bake…no pretty!!! HA HA HA
[Reply]
Curtis Stone — hands down. I love that Take Home Chef show. I always watch it and think, why doesn’t that ever happen to me? Why is Curtis Stone never wandering the aisles of our local Publix?
[Reply]
Tony Collichio please! Please oh please!
I do most of the cooking, and sure, I have my moments when the meal is actually edible and I then suffer from delusions of grandeur about my cooking ability.
[Reply]
You know how I feel about Rocco… he was on my blog…..so let’s just not discuss it any more…… and that picture…. love it!!!! He can cook ANYTHING at my house!!!!!!
I do the cooking because I can only eat so much bacon and eggs…… and I clean everything up!!!!!!!!! And I love to cook!!!
Sorry, just got back from a Christmas party and I hope this makes sense!!!!!
[Reply]
Mmmmmm….Rocco is yummy!

Jamie Oliver weirds me out. I have no idea why.

LOVE Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay. They could whip something up in my kitchen ANY day of the week. Or whip something up in the bedroom for me
I love to cook, and have only recently gotten into it seriously in the past year or two. I hardly ever cooked before I had my kids and I was working . . . my hubby says I’ve come a long way and loves all the food I make now, so I hope he’s not lying.
OK I see no one else picked Gordon Ramsay and once again I am the odd ball in my choices, but I like his style and he doesn’t take crap from anyone. He really can look sexy with his totally disheveled hair and furrowed brow.
