Friday Eye Candy: Reasons to Watch Baseball Edition

I thought with baseball season being in full swing (get it–swing, like as in bats) and the All-Star game being next week that we should take a look at a few of the hottest players.  When I say “hot” that doesn’t mean “good” because who knows if they are actually playing well right now.  Does it really matter?  Not when they look this cute!

Chase Utley…Philadelphia Phillies–Second Base

JJ Hardy–Milwaukee Brewers–Shortstop

Joe Mauer…Minnesota Twins–Catcher

Jeff Clement…Seattle Mariners-Catcher

Nick Markakis…Orioles-Right Field

Derek Jeter…Yankees–Shortstop

Grady Sizemore…Cleveland Indians-Center Field

 

Jose Reyes…NY Mets–Shortstop

David Wright…NY Mets–Third Base

Josh Beckett….Red Sox–Pitcher

 And for old time sake, here is a picture of my all-time cute baseball player…Brady Anderson, outfielder from the Baltimore Orioles.  Since he isn’t playing anymore, he is spending his days at the beach.  At least that is what I’m guessing from this photo.  Yum!

    I noticed that my interest in baseball on TV increased at the same time producers began showing more close up shots of the players. I think it was a calculated decision after the strike. Nonetheless, a damn good one!!

    Jen, thanks for stopping by & commenting on the Jamie Lynn situation. We had a similiar thing with my cousin & his girlfriend - it even involved paternity tests. Try explaining that one.

    Love, love, love the top reasons to enjoy baseball. We watch a lot of baseball in my house with the hubby & a 10 yr. old boy but now I can enjoy it even more.

    Oh, yummy. Time to break out my ball glove . . . ok, maybe just some popcorn so I can sit back and watch more baseball. I am an avid sports fan but not a *huge* baseball fan . . . I see what I am missing this season so it’s time to start turning off tennis and moving back into baseball :-)

    I’m going to have to agree with Mamasphere on this one. I can’t stop looking at Chase. All day long I’ve been visiting my own blog just mesmorized by his cute face. I may just have to suggest a trip to see the Phillies play. It’s only an hour and half away from here. My husband and son will be so happy that I’m showing an interest in baseball. Little do they know my reasons…hehe.

    McMommy–I try really hard to get all my pictures from photobucket or flickr and not steal from other sites.

    I’ll take me some Nick Markakis with a side of Grady Sizemore - YUMMMMM.
    OK, maybe a little Chase too - he had a McDreamy-esque quality about him. I’m lovin’ the hair.

    I also love my Red Sox boy Jacoby Ellsbury - soooooo de-dorable!!!

    See, this is why athelete-watching should be an actual sport cause hello! I’d love to be an Olympian when it comes to watching these guys!

    Derek, Nick & Josh- YUM! HOWEVER, the pics of Nick and Josh do NOT do them justice at all! Check out Josh one night when he’s pitching for the Red Sox (most likely you can catch them on Sunday, Monday or Wednesday night on ESPN or on FOX on Saturday afternoon). The O’s are horrible, so you’ll never be able to see a good shot of him, but he IS such a cutie! PS~I used to think A-Rod was a hottie too, but now, well…….
