Good Riddance, Bratz

Good News!!

A judge ruled that Bratz dolls must be removed from the shelves and no new dolls are to be made or sold after the holidays.

When I first saw the news I got excited because I thought the ruling was based on the fact that someone was finally trying to bring those Skankz down, but that isn’t the case.  Sadly, it had nothing to with the trashy clothes and makeup that the dolls wear.  It was because of some kind of copyright infringement lawsuit filed by Mattel.

As happy as I am about news, I’m also mourning all the fun that could have been had from playing with the Bratz.  I mean just take the Bratz Treasures dolls, for example.

Wouldn’t these make great Pirate Stripperz?

They even provide the stage:

If playing strip club stops being fun we could always kick things up a notch.  Think of all the fun that could have been had with the Bratz Brothelz:

Choose your own prostitute:

Pimpz sold separately:

They even have a line of Kitty Slutz:

Of course I’m kidding.  I am so glad to see these stupid dollz go (why am I still adding “z” to everything?)  Good riddance, Bratz!  The moms will not miss you!

Funny post about the silly dolls that don’t seem to be going away!
On the off chance you don’t already have it, I’ve given you the Making Lemonade Out of Lemons award. You can pick it up at:

That is one thing I can say about having boys, I do not have to worry about them having trashy looking dollz.. That somehow they would get this self image in their head to want to look and act like a bratt. Ugh!
I will say that I find it odd that Mattel would think these guys look even remotely close to a Barbie. Are Barbies dressing just as trashy the days too?

    Ok –

First, let me make it clear. I *HATE* the Bratz dolls and everything they stand for. Teaching our children to get dolled up like little wannabe hookers is *NOT* my idea of good times.

That being said I *HATE* how Mattell handled this, and have already returned any an all Mattell manufactured toys.

Basically the story goes that the person who developed Bratz worked for Mattell, pitched the idea, and Mattell passed on it. She then took the idea to MGA and sold it to them.

    It hit.

As far as I’m concerned the minute mattell passed on it they lost any and all claim to it. To bury it just because they (incorrectly) believe it’s taking Barbie market-share away is complete corporate bullshit.

    They can all byte me.

You spell bite me wrong dumb bitch Reply:

You spelled bite wrong stupied and also it’s pretty pethetic that you can’t open your eyes to see were Barbie came from. She came from a German porn show no kidding, I think it was called lnn. Well anyways this girl was based on a cartoon women who wore short shorts and tight belly button shirts. So why are you complaining? That’s probly because your a hooker and you haave to blame your mistacks on a doll.

    LOL –

I’m a computer geek, I always use ‘byte’ instead of ‘bite’ Sort of a trademark. Sorry that might get lost on someone like you with an IQ of 60.

I’m no fan of Barbie either, it puts an unrealistic body-type-image into kids minds, instilling in them a body-consciousness that is unhealthy.

Your reply is rife with spelling / typographical errors and indicates that you *MIGHT* have about a sixth grade education.

Go back to school, come back when you get a degree.

Thankfully my girls are getting alittle too old for Bratz anyway. But sadly, I did contribute to the profit, we own several dollz. LOL!

I can NOT stand Bratz. As much as I abhor the little trollops, it’s a cinch that they’ll appeal the case and this will go on and on and cost millions of dollars.

The thing about The person who created Bratz – and this is the only issue I take with what ShredderFeeder said, is that this person was under a no-compete and confidentiality clause. Anything that the person created whilst under the employ of Mattel is Mattel’s sole property and not only that, they hold the intellectual rights to it as well as the design and physical rights. The person that created Bratz then went and sold something that wasn’t hers/his to sell…hence the lawsuit. It sucks, but that’s how the cookie bounces in our legal system.

Having said all that, I hate Barbies almost as much. We are completely Barbie-free in this house (don’t even get me started on image-issues with those plastic bimbos) and I hope we stay that way.

LOLOLOLOL!! I love your comments on Bratz! But it’s true though…the implications of the designs were way too much. It’s just not right for kids at that age to be exposed to such skankiness

I’m so glad those nasty things are gone. I have a boy but I really thought they were Ghetto Barbie Wannabes and don’t think they’re appropriate toys at all.

looking now, i see that bratz are pretty skanky dolls….
but i have to say, as a younger kid (i am a teen) i owned over 100 bratz dolls… easily.
and i also owned about doubble in barbies.
although they are skany, it never once crossed my mind that i want to look like a bratz doll… let alone dres like them…
actually, after reading this i went and had a look at my old collection, and realised, the newer the dolls were, the skankier they got!
my original bratz, wore a full length denim skirt and a high-kneck t-shirt with a denim jacket!
she wore almost NO make up too!
    !!!!

    etc etc etc

Btw, They weren’t designed for kids, they were designed for teens who had grown out of Barbie.. As the creater’s daughter was getting too old for Barbie, he Made Bratz and named one after her.. ”Yasmin” :P

I for one like Bratz dolls and am sad they are being cancelled, however I do own many bratz dolls and YES I PLAY WITH THEM! Sure, they are a bit too revealing BUT have you seen the hooker Barbie’s??? And you thought Bratz were bad. Everyone I know that owns Bratz dolls (Including me) don’t think of them as role models. But you know what? The dolls are teenagers and teenagers usually dress similar to that! And NO, not because of Bratz dolls. All you Barbie fans out there: How would you feel if Barbie’s were getting cancelled???!!!! You’d be upset too so shut up and see what it’d be like if it was REVERSED.
