Halloween Hangover
How was your Halloween? Ours was fun. The kids got way too much candy and, of course, we checked over it to make sure it wasn’t tampered with pick out all our favorites.
I’m making this obligatory Halloween post short and sweet because I’m finding that my brain is in a fog from all the treats (i.e wine and candy) that I’ve put into my body over the past couple of days.
Here are a few pictures:
My daughter the witch:

My son, the knight:

Ready for Trick or Treating:

Our Jack-o-Lantern (who we nicknamed Edward–thanks to Misty for this great idea):

I couldn’t figure out how to get the picture to show it glowing. You can see the fangs better when it is glowing.
Remember when I said that my neighborhood goes all out for the holiday. Well, I wasn’t kidding. Here is one example of the decorations at my favorite house:

Now for the embarrassing pictures of the adult costume party:

We went as an 80’s hair band rocker and groupie. It was fun doing the big bangs again! I was having trouble remembering exactly how I got them to stand up like I did back then.
And, lastly, a picture of me holding a bottle of Vampire wine that surprisingly did not taste like how I imagined it would taste (Twilight in a bottle??). Sadly, sometimes great labels do not equal great wine.

(Don’t you just love when people from other countries add that extra “u” in words. It makes the words look so much more sophisticated.)
Thanks to everyone that entered! Now, don’t forget to try to buy only fair trade chocolate whenever possible.

Got something to say?

Oh the 80s. Big hair and bright makeup. Good times. Good times:)

you have to apply liberal amounts of aqua net hair spray to the hair while it sits in the curling iron. after the hair spray dries you pull out the iron, then let the hair cool before teasing into a nice big puff.

Loved the kids’ costumes!
And . . . the grown-up ones were pretty RAD too! See? I’m not completely senile (at 35) yet! And dammit about the wine, I bought that label for a hostess gift for our friends’ pumpkin carving party last week because I loved the label so much and it was festive . . . and now I think I may just bring them another one that I know is delicious the next time I see them. Was it the cab, or the merlot?

You’re so cute! I went to an 80’s party recently and couldn’t do “big bangs” anymore either- what’s up with that?

Totally, like, bitchin!
Did you remember the blue eyeshadow which was a staple of the 80’s?
Great photos. Looks like you guys had a blast. Sorry the wine wasn’t better.

The kids costumes are adorable – and yours is great too!!! So Madonna-ish
You look fabulous girl, I don’t think you have to worry about losing 15 pounds AT ALL!!! I’m sorry you had a bad week, the Halloween is calling to me on a regular basis and is KILLING me (and my thighs).

I cracked up at the Edward pumpkin. I keep teasing Rob that he’s just jealous of Edward. He told me he’s going to hide my book (I’m on Eclipse).
