Mish Mash Defined

So what is this blog all about?  Basically, it will be a collection of completely unrelated topics–a hodgepodge of the things that interest me most.  If you are interested in any of the following topics, you may want to check back frequently:

  1. Food- Oh how I wish I didn’t love you so much, but alas, I do.   This is as good of a place as any to share recipes that our family likes and most likely they’ll be easy to prepare because I’m pretty lazy.
  2. Weight loss and Exercise–Oh how I loathe you exercise, but because of my food obsession I guess I’m going to have to learn how to make peace with you.
  3. Must See Movies/TV –I’m not embarrassed to admit that I do my fair share of movie/tv watching. To balance it out, I try to watch a vast variety of shows and films from American Idol to PBS Masterpiece Theater; from Hotel Rwanda to Wedding Crashers. 
  4. Books, Books and More Books –I love to read and my husband–not so much.  So I need somewhere to blab about the books I’m reading.  Plus, I’ll have to balance out my incessant yammering about all things on the tube.
  5. Frugal Finds–Because I’m cheap. Period.
  6. Inexpensive Wine Recommendations –If it was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for me.  I drink in moderation–only one bottle a night (kidding).  So, why am I only talking about inexpensive wines?  Did you read #3?  (Note: I’d be more than happy to try out a $50+ bottle of wine if anyone would like to send it my way.)
  7. Getting Organized–I love reading organizing books and blogs and I’m a sucker for any new home makeover show (ie Clean House, Mission Organization, etc..).  So, you must think I have the most organized house around.  Well, my husband would definitely beg to disagree.    Now I’m not saying I’m a complete slob, but there are definitely some areas of my home that I’d rather not show to company.  So,  I’ll be sharing my progress and hopefully some tips along the way that have worked for me on my quest to be a neat freak.
  8. Travel Stories–I work in the travel industry as a family travel planning specialist.  I love to see new places, so why not share my experiences here.   (*This is where I must warn you that I’m a Disney World addict.)
  9. Pop Culture/Current Events–I can’t promise too much on this front because there are so many other places to get this kind of info and I don’t want to try to even think about keeping up with everything that is going on in the world.  For the record, I’m in love with Ryan Gosling and would give away one of my children to spend the night with meet him.  Actually I’d give away both of them if he and Rachel McAdams would just get back together already!!
  10. Etc….   Pretty much any other topic that happens to catch my interest 

Speaking of my kids, there won’t be any pictures of them on this blog.  There are more than enough  ”mommy” sites out there and to be honest, my kids aren’t that cute.  Just kidding.  They’re adorable, but I’m keeping them all to myself. 

I hope to post regularly (hence the name DAILY Mish Mash).  Just don’t hold your breath on that one because I tend to be a tad bit ADD at times.
