Just A Few Things To Share
I’m not really sure where I’m going with this post, but I had a few things that I felt like sharing, so here you go.

My daughter just got her haircut. It is so cute and bouncy that I’m suddenly thinking of abandoning my plan of growing out my hair again and getting it cut into the same style so we can do the whole mother daughter matching thing like Katie and Suri Cruise.

What do you think? Cute or obnoxious?
Is it just me or are the striped outfits a cry for help? What do you think–are they trying to send us a secret message about being prisoners?
The other thing I noticed when I was looking for pictures of Kate (still have trouble calling her that) and Suri is that the girl never walks. Seriously, why do they always carry her? Is that some sort of weird Scientology ritual for toddlers.

Birthday Wrap-up
This is the last you will hear of my birthday. I have clearly stretched it out as long as humanly possible and now I’m even sick of talking about it. Before I commit to no more birthday talk, I just wanted to do a little summary of a few things I hadn’t yet blogged about.
We finally tried PF Chang’s last week. I think I had really high expectations for this place because of the majestic horses out front. I figured if they took so much time with the outdoor decor that the food would blow me away. Don’t get me wrong- the food wasn’t bad. I guess I just expected something more. Something horse statue worthy.

Did we order the wrong things? We had the lettuce wraps for an appetizer–they were actually my favorite. Then we ordered the Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Chang’s Spicy Chicken for our entrees. Everything was tasty enough but I’m not sure I’d rush back anytime soon.

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist was a bit of a disappointment. I had read that it was the Say Anything of this generation. Ummm….no.
It annoyed me for a few reasons:
- The kids in the movie had no curfew. Do parents in NJ not enforce curfews anymore? Are high school age kids allowed to run around NYC all night nowadays? It wasn’t like it was prom or anything like that. It was just some random Friday night. What gives?
- There is a scene where a drunk girl pukes and then fishes her gum out of the toilet and puts it back in her mouth. If that isn’t gross enough to read about, imagine my reaction watching it on the screen. I apologize for “spoiling” this scene for you, but I thought I’d do my readers a favor and give them fair warning to close their eyes before the puke scene. You’ll know it is coming so consider yourself warned. That was probably the most DISGUSTING thing I’ve ever seen in my entire movie watching life. YUCK!!
There were actually a few other scenes that bothered me but I don’t want to give too much away in case you are planning to see it.
If you saw it, what did you think? Thumbs up or down?

Check out this package that I received in the mail the other day. It was completely unexpected and such a sweet birthday surprise.

My friend sent me some goodies from my favorite show in the whole, wide world–The Office.
My absolute favorite is the Shrute Beet Farms pencil because that reminds me of Dwight’s cousin Mose. Don’t you just love when Mose is on the show?

I lied about not mentioning my birthday ever again. I actually will be mentioning it in November when I tell you all about the gift I bought for myself.
I scheduled a massage for myself at the local community college massage therapy center. It was a phenomenal deal so I just couldn’t resist. I haven’t gotten that many professional massages (unless you count those $20 for 20 minute beach fondling massages in Cozumel and Costa Maya-which by the way were heavenly) so I doubt I’d be able to tell the difference anyway.
Speaking of massages, have you seen the latest trend in the art of massage therapy?

OH HELL NO!! That is the stuff nightmares are made of.

And finally, here is your weekly dose of Gosling:
If you stalk Ryan like I do, you know that he’s taken up a new hobby/career as a DJ. Well, there haven’t been any photos of him spinning his tunes. Until now.

When asked about his new gig, he said:
“I’m a total amateur. I just try to keep my hands busy. You know what they say about idle hands.”
Even his quotes are sexy. If he needs to keep his hands busy, I can think of a few other ideas.

Got something to say?

I don’t know why but I feel a constant need to defend Katie Holmes. I think her hair cut is cute and it’s not surprising it’s cute on her daughter as well. The stripes I could do without but for styish reasons alone.
The being held thing? I don’t know maybe they walk a lot and poor Suri would be tuckered out walking the whole way? Or maybe Katie’s worried she’d get lost in the crowds or something. ::shrugs::

Holy crap!! I’d NEVER be able to RELAX with snakes in the room, much less ON MY BODY! OMG!!! Creepy!!!

I think the whole matchy-matchy thing looks a bit ridiculous. And the stripes? No. Never seen the American version of The Office. The original was kind of funny but Ricky Gervais does my head in now.

LOL, Jen, you’re so funny. I love it.
I heart the Office too – I peed my pants watching it last week – my hubby and I were on the floor rolling with laughter at the “stroller scenes” with Dwight. Classic. I love the Office notepads – lovely.
I’m sad to hear about the movie – I adore Michael Cera and was hoping this would be another big hit for him . . . Juno was so witty and entertaining. Bummer. The toilet scene has convinced me I will not go see it, and if anything, I may rent it. If the store has no other rentals, on any shelves, at all.

You crack me up… as always. =0)
I think the hair do’s are very cute but the matching clothes at not. I don’t mind coordinating colors together though. My daughter (7) always wants me to be able to match her (I think she gets this from her three younger brothers who love all wear the same shirts) but I refuse. So we were the same colors instead sometimes. I don’t think it’s quite so freaky to see us both (different) pink shirts than it is to see us in matching dresses. Yikes!

Is it me or does Suri look a bit to old to have a bottle? That is a bottle isn’t it?
I’m normally not one to judge on celebrities and how they raise their kids or anyones kids for that matter, maybe it’s easier to pick on a celebrity.
Matchey matchey is cute on twins..I’m just sayin.

Jen–That is a good point about the crowds. I guess that makes sense as to why they are always carrying her. I think I’d do the same thing if my child was being swarmed by paparazzi.
Jean–I think that is an older picture. I’ve seen her with a sippy cup recently.
As for the matching, it doesn’t bother me every once in awhile. I think it is kind of cute. I guess I just feel like Katie is always trying to match/ coordinate with Suri. That is kind of weird.
I also think Suri wears way too much black for a toddler, but that is just me.

I think you should probably skip the whole matching mommy/daughter thing. It’s sort of creepy.
And I also noticed that Suri never walks and she was getting a bottle past the age of two! Insane I tell ya! She’s almost 3, let her walk!

I’m fairly new to your blog and you crack me up every time!
I too LOVE the Office. Jim is totally my boyfriend.

My sister is a massage therapist… nice perk, huh???

Matching haircuts = cute.
Matching striped tunics = not as cute.
Child that age still with a bottle = kind of weird. Honestly, Suri has a bottle in almost every magazine photo I’ve seen! She’s almost three, isn’t she? Isn’t that kind of old? To be fair, my kid weaned himself around his first birthday, but still. I thought it was bad for tooth development?
ANYWAY. I say go for the haircut!!

I like P.F Changs, but there is always a crowd at ours so I don;t enjoy the wait.
Michael Cera is the cutest thing ever! Haven’t seen the movie though.
I got all that Office stuff at Target! Awesome!
Did you get a THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID NOTEPAD? That’s my fave. Did you know that Mose is Regis Philbins son in law in real life?
[Reply]
LOL! So much greatness in one post… wow! How do you do it?!?
I miss P.F. Changs! Lettuce wraps.. yum!!!
The prisoners thing.. wow.. never thought of that but I can totally see that! Nice interpretation!
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie… I’m bummed you didn’t like it you usually have pretty good taste! haha That scene with the gum… omg I almost threw up just reading it! And I actually knew some kids in high school with no curfew believe it or not. Not me!
And that quote… WOW. Great ending.. I’m off to meditate about ryan gosling and his sexy hands!

that kid is way too old for a bottle.

I see Suri walking a lot. When I bought my “beach” magazines last week while I was on vaca, there was a whole section on how gosh darn cute that Suri is! and all of the pictures she walking. Either next to Katie, next to Katie & Tom, or holding Katie’s hand. She’s adorable. They were showing all her different dresses with ballet flats, and she was walking in all of them. And if she is being carried a lot, I don’t think I would blame Kate. I want to hold my son ALL the time and just kiss and kiss his cheeks forever! Your babies will only let you carry them for so long, and then bam!, one day they’ll tell you they’re too old to be carried anymore
So I think Katie and all parents should soak it up while they can. And as far being “too old” for a bottle, I think we have to cut this particular kid a little slack. Can you imagine having your child being followed by paparazzi almost 24/7??? Sometimes there are swarms of them snapping away at her adorable 2-year old face – so not right. I’m sure the bottle was her comfort and safety zone and I don’t blame her at all for not wanting to give it up or for her parents not “taking” it away from her. She doesn’t walk around with a pacifier in her mouth like other toddlers her age – Kingston for one. So why does no one say anything about that? She might not sleep with a bottle, we don’t know, and that’s why they say you should “take” the bottle away – b/c of “teeth rotting”. She’s a child and she’ll outgrow the bottle when she’s ready, so I think we just need to let her be.
