Sarah Palin's husband is a stay-at-home father? If so, that must be recent. He was a commercial fisherman and at one point they also owned a small business. He was actually away on business for three days when Sarah found out that Trig had down syndrome. She told him once he came home. Maybe once they found that out they decided Todd should stay at home. Not sure.

Also, I just read a quote from her that said neither her nor Todd told the four oldest children that their sibling was going to be born with downs. All four of the older kids were in the delivery room when Trig was born and the 15 year old daughter says, "He looks like he has down syndrome." And that's how the four oldest find out. Is that a little odd, or is just me? How do you not prepare and tell your four kids that their brother is going to be born with downs? I have a cousin who has downs so this topic is a little closer to my heart and I get a little more heated about it then.

And about Bristol, how, as a parent (mother or father) do you accept the VP candidate position knowing that your 17 year pregnant, unwed daughter is then going to be thrust into the national spotlight? I cant' comprehend that. Is being the VP more important? I understand as women we want it all, but eventually you do have to make a choice. And sorry, but I believe she made the wrong choice. She chose to be a mother and therefore you then have to compromise your own life at certain times, and this is one of them. And do you know she would only support abstinence-only sex education programs in Alaska? Are you kidding me? We're in the year 2008! And clearly, her daughter is a proven case that you need to teach and provde more than just abstinence. She also doesn't believe in abortion in cases of rape or incest. And on top of that, she also doesn't believe in supporting unwed mothers. So, then you're not going to support the women who were raped and got pregnant through being molested b/c you won't let them get an abortion? Way too extreme for me. Can't we find a middle ground?

Oh I know who'd I be voting for. The US election gets so much airtime over here I am begining to think we should be offered a vote actually.

Love that you tackled all the taboo topics in one post.

I'm off to see how much by blog is worth and if it is anywhere close to yours I may well just sell it and move on with life.

So if I don't come back you'll know why and it'll be all your fault.

I actually tried watching Donny Darko before but I had to stop because the rabbit was freaking me out too much. I have a fear of mascots..so...yeah...it was a little too scary for me...which is sad cause I've heard the rave reviews that it's received...

1. Trading Britney's meltdowns for Palin's could be a nice change of pace.
2. Never forget Jakes level of hotness, I've been all over that nugget since October Skies.
3. If I didn't believe in karma before I do now.
4. Oh yeah, this blog has income written all over it. I was so sure you were cashing in, I've been looking for a subtle way to ask you for a money.
5. I'm pleased to announce my blog is worth $3,387.24. That should just about cover what I paid to have my header designed
6. Can I borrow 3,387.24 bucks (I have PayPal)

I thought her delivery of the speech was great while she was talking about her life and background. It didn't go as well, I didn't think, when she moved into some of the policy stuff and at a couple of points she was a little more sarcastic that I would have liked to hear in her first speech in the national spotlight. The stylists had done a good job with her, I thought...the glasses and hair were much better. I was bothered by the five kid (special needs baby particularly) thing until I saw this morning that her husband stays at home. That made me feel better about it. Having said all that...I'll still likely go with the Obama-Biden ticket.

Oh...I do kind of believe in karma or "what goes around comes around" or "you reap what you so" or whatever you want to call it. I've seen it in action quite a few times.

Misty--I just edited the post to remove the remark I made about Alaska. I know nothing about how easy or hard the state would be to run. I just know I'd love to visit the place someday.

The rabbit was freaky in DD but it all ties together at the end. I think.

John--I think it is more the ages of her kids. If they were older, I think I'd feel more comfortable with the whole situation. So is the dad a stay at home dad?
