Up, Up and Away

I have some pictures to share.  Sorry to disappoint, but I do not have any of the Ryan Gosling look-somewhat-alike.  Are you people crazy?!!  I was joking about taking the pic of him.  However with all the enthusiasm now I’m kind of tempted.

Anyway, here are a few pictures from our Tour de Virgina vacation last week.

Right before we left for our trip, I had yet another visit from an injured bird.  A baby Mourning Dove left its nest, I guess a bit too prematurely, and flew right into our house as we were packing up the suitcases in the van.

Why does this always seem to happen to me?  I thought we were going to have to take a detour to the wild bird rescue center, but alas, the poor thing flew away right after I snapped this picture of him/her.  I guess it didn’t like being photographed.

Once we got to Williamsburg we met these two feathered friends:

The kids were more excited about these stupid ducks that lived in the pond by our hotel than they were about the amusement parks we visited.  I swear we really could have saved a lot of money on this vacation by just driving around looking at license plates and ducks.  They would have been just as amused and we would have saved a ton of money.

Ok, here is a picture of me riding the Griffon.  See that girl in the front row all the way to the right holding on for dear life.  That is me!  Loved it!

It was a fun ride but I think I enjoyed Apollo’s Chariot just a little bit more.  The Curse of the Darkastle was another really awesome attraction.  It put Disney’s Haunted Mansion to shame (and I am a Disney lover, so that says a lot).   The kids’ favorite of the day was the Pet Shenanigans, a really cute show with dogs, cats, birds, etc.. doing tricks.  I could see that this show might be easily missed, but if you are at Busch Gardens, I highly recommend checking it out.

Here is the last picture.  I call this one the World’s Largest Kite.  I’m not really sure if this is true, but I sure as heck have never seen a kite this big in my whole life.  Sadly,  the beast never did get up.  I guess size really does matter.  At least for kites.

How fun! You are totally my hero - I would never get on a ride like that, I’d pee my pants for sure.

Too funny! That kite is massive. But I can’t talk about the rides. Don’t want to get sick on your blog. :)
