I always have my kids make a card for their teacher thanking them for being such a good teacher. Then I write a thank you note from my husband and myself and I include some cookies or brownies. Though all gifts are appreciated very much, one can only have so many apple-themed decorations and teacher mugs. Some of the best gifts I got were hand-picked flowers, notes and drawings from the students and appreciative parents, and photo scrapbooks. :) I completely agree, as a former teacher!
