Anticipation
There are so many movies coming out this summer/early fall that I am very excited about.
Public Enemies with Johnny Depp looks excellent. It seems packed full of romance, action, and sexy guys (other than Johnny there is also Channing Tatum, Billy Crudup, Giovanni Ribisi and Christian Bale)–what more can a girl ask for in a summer flick?!

Shutter Island with Leonardo DiCaprio (due out in October) also looks pretty good. (Thanks for the heads-up on this one Amy! I almost forgot Leo had this movie coming out.)

I know a lot of people will be moaning about another DiCaprio/Scorcese collaboration but my feeling is that The Departed, The Aviator and Gangs of New York were all excellent movies so what is there to complain about. If it ain’t broke, why try to fix it, right?
IMDB still has Ryan Gosling’s All Good Things release date for July 24th, but I find that hard to believe without any trailers or posters to be found online.

Of course, I already have my calendar marked just in case.
Now I have to ask. Has anyone seen The Hangover? I keep hearing how hilarious it is but you all know my feelings about Bachelor parties so I’m wondering if I will enjoy it? Sometimes, I like raunchy, guy movies (like Wedding Crashers, Something About Mary) but then other times I’m kind of put off by this genre (like American Pie, Old School). So, I have a little hesitation about running out to see it. If you’ve seen it let me know what you think.
Out of all the movies coming out this summer, the one that I am MOST excited for, without a doubt, is The Time Traveler’s Wife with Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams. It opens on August 14th.
I’ve watched the trailer three times and got chills (and tears) on each viewing. It looks really good. See for yourself:
I know a lot of people went crazy over the book but I had a hard time with it. It was just so confusing with all the jumping all over the place. In the end I did enjoy it, but I think that maybe I should read it again. I’m thinking it might be better the second time around since I understand the basic concept of their love story.
But wow! This trailer just makes the movie look spectacular. I know that it could be misleading but I’m totally psyched!
So, which movies are you excited about this summer/fall? Did you read Time Traveler’s Wife? If so, what do you think of the trailer–do you think the movie will hold up to the book?

Yes, definitely looking forward to Public Enemies. So good.
Haven’t really seen many previews lately, so I feel like the only think I’m looking forward to won’t arrive til mid November….!

Okay, how have I never heard of The Time Traveler’s Wife? I have to see this one – you see, I’m a little bit in love with Eric Bana;o)
I’m also anxious to see Public Enemies, and The Ugly Truth (with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl). Looks like it will be a good summer for movies!

The Ugly Truth looks really good too. I don’t really like Heigl, but I’ll deal with her just so I can swoon over Gerard Butler!!

The Time Traveler’s Wife and Public Enemies both look really good. I haven’t read the book yet for Time Traveler’s Wife but I also doubt I’ll get to see either in theater so I’m guessing I have time to read it before it comes out on DVD.

I just watched the trailer to a time Travelers Wife – it looks SO good! I am excited to see it!

I had no clue they were making The Time Travellers Wife into a movie.
See all these important things I’ve been uniformed about whilst on blogging hiatus caused by severe laziness?
I shall be paying full attention from now on!

I read the book. Like you I had a hard time with it, but enjoyed it. I think the movie might be one that I actually like MORE than the book.

I loved the Time Traveler’s Wife and I’m really looking forward to the movie. Usually, I think books are better, but I’ll see it anyway.

Thanks for the trailer – looks great! I haven’t read the book but I’m sure I’ll love the movie. My big movie this year was Wolverine, so after that I’m waiting for the next Harry Potter.

First, I didn’t really care for The Departed at all. I liked the majority of the people in the movie, but overall, I thought the movie was dumb. Never saw Gangs of New York – had no desire to see it. Saw The Aviator, but it was too long and just kept repeating the same ol’, same ol’. So yeah, Leo and Martin, mix it up! Branch out!!
Second, Rob can definitely call us – we’ll be in one of our minivans and up to NYC before he can even blink.
Second, I just saw the trailer for the Time Traveler’s Wife a couple of days ago and had no idea about this movie. I didn’t read the book, but would like to try (yeah right!) and read it before the movie comes out. The movie looks so good, I already get teary-eyed, so I’ll have to remember the tissues when I go to the theater.
Third (related to another post), Rob can definitely call us – we’ll be in one of our minivans and up to NYC before he can even blink.

The Departed was actually my least favorite of the 3 movies they did together and that is the one he one the Oscar for– go figure. The end of that movie is just plain stupid.

I have chills BIG TIME after seeing the trailer for Time Traveler’s Wife! I think I will re-read the book, starting tonight! Wow. Totally, totally awesome. I love Rachel. It’s going to be good… I’m seeing that for sure! And Public Enemies.

I pretty much want to see all of these. But I need to read the Time Traveler’s Wife first.

I haven’t read the Potter books or watched any of the movies so that is why I left this one off the list. We are starting on book one this summer so hopefully I will be able to join in on the fun soon!

Public Enemies, Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince, Transformers 2… I’m looking forward to all those.
I’ve never read the book, but The Time-Traveler’s Wife movie looks good (hello, it has Eric Bana… how can it NOT be?!)
