Friday Eye Candy: Lovers’ Island

For today’s Friday Eye Candy, I got my inspiration from the following photo that was captured on Google Earth:
This uninhabited, heart-shaped island is located in the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Croatia.
In the words of 30 Rock’s Liz Lemon, “I want to go to there.”
Wouldn’t this be the ultimate Valentine’s getaway?
So, who would I like to take with me to Lovers’ Island? Hmmmm…..Aside from the obvious choice of my husband, there are the even more obvious choices of Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy and Leonardo DiCaprio.
I’m actually going to go in a completely different direction and choose a new man who has just shown up on my radar.
I’d like to introduce you to Philippe Cousteau Jr. Everyone say Bonjour, Philippe.
Recognize the last name? He is the grandson of the late Jacques Cousteau.
He is carrying on the work of his father and grandfather by educating the public about environmental and conservation issues. And looking DAMN good in the process!
I guess I don’t watch much of the Discovery Channel because I didn’t even know this beautiful species existed.
I’m totally smitten and will now officially start watching any nature show that he is on.
I will say that there was only one thing that was a bit disappointing about him. I was surprised to hear that he doesn’t have a French accent. At all. He was born and raised in the US. Oh well, I guess you can’t win ‘em all.
Regardless, I still think he is the perfect choice to take to Lovers’ Island. I figure he would be able to identify and protect us from all the deadly creatures on and around the island. Like this terrifying beast:
And we can’t forget about “The Others” and the smoke monster too (because you know, every uninhabited island is like LOST). I’m sure he will be able to outsmart them too.

Wow, your new boyfriend is pretty easy on the eyes. I may just start watching the Discovery Channel myself! He totally reminds me of Josh Lucas (from the movie Sweet Home Alabama). I would bring Kyle Chandler with me to lovers island. I don’t know why because he’s not my “type”, but I have a HUGE crush on him.

He is super cute, I’ve never seen or heard of him before (and get none of those channels so I’ll just have to live vicariously through your enjoyment of him).
Besides the obvious answers of John Mayer or my husband, I honestly can’t think of anyone to bring to this island. I think I’d even be a total tool and want to take my kids. I know, it’s sad.
I have honestly been ignoring the Christian Bale thing, was it really bad?

I’ve definitely seen Phillipe before and he IS a hottie! I especially love that he is following in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. And there’s nothing like a gorgeous guy who is also intelligent and passionate about a good cause.
As for who I’d take …
Phillipe *would* be a good choice, what with all the wild animals and such, but I’m more into shorter, stockier, and darker-haired guys.
So I’d say Joaquin Phoenix would be my choice. Of course, I mean the *old* Joaquin, pre-crazy-man-beard, wanna-be-rapper, Letterman-nonsense. Like, say, when he was in Gladiator? He was SMOKIN’ then.

So my list… Well. After my husband, of course… I’d have to go with Robert Pattinson because there is something about that man. Then next would probably Brendan Fraser because oh my God even if he looked bad I could just close my eyes and listen to him TALK. And lastly… and an odd choice I’m sure… but Jim from the Office because well, he’s Jim. Is there a man who can say more with his eyebrows than Jim?

Keanu Reeves was on my list until his recent movie that was a giant political agenda against big business and not at all an actual movie with good stuff in it. now he is off my list. I no longer love him. I even wrote a post about it.

Fine, he’s hawt and all that. Maybe if it’s your fantasy you could make him talk in a French accent, being that you’d be the one transporting him to the island and all.
I am boring now that I am back to being submersed in LOST again – I would have to choose Sawyer to bring with me b/c he already knows his way around a girl, err, I mean a deserted island.

Philippe is very sexy… great choice for bringing him to Lovers Island. I must say, when I first started reading this post, I thought for sure you were going to say Ryan Gosling, LOL!
