Friday Eye Candy: Wine and Men Edition
I feel like I need to preface this post with the fact that I just drank a half a bottle of wine.
I don’t typically drink a half a bottle of wine on a Thursday but certain events happened today that just pushed me over the edge.
As I was driving to pick my kids up from camp, I noticed a weird burning sensation around the top of my underwear right below my lower back. I thought it was my tag. I moved the tag and went on with my drive. The burning continued but got less and less intense as I went on with the drive.
By the time I reached my destination, the burning was gone. I picked the kids up from camp and went on with my day.
Later that afternoon, I went to the bathroom and before I flushed I noticed that there was a crunched up spider sitting on the rim of the toilet seat.
OMG! I HAD A SPIDER IN MY UNDERWEAR!!!
So, yeah…I had a half a bottle of wine tonight. Sue me. I think I needed something to dull the pain and ease the trauma of having a spider living in my underwear half the day.
I was feeling a little sad that I wasn’t at BlogHer this weekend. Now I’m just feeling lucky to be alive!
I don’t know about you but I really need some eye candy to make myself feel a little better after this frightening event.
[It is Friday and if you are new to my blog, Fridays mean eye candy. This is where I show off my celebrity crushes in all their glory, as well as spotlighting other blogger's celebrity crushes. If you would like to have your list posted on my blog, please feel free to contact me.]
Since no one has sent me their list recently, I will just go with a few of my faves. Honestly, that is about all I can handle after the traumatic events of today.
Ryan Gosling

James McAvoy

Robert Pattinson

Sorry, but that is about all that I can muster this evening. I need to go to bed and forget that this spider incident ever happened.

Do you have any fears? Spiders? Heights? Blogging conferences with tons of chatty women?

If you are here from BlogHop, thanks for stopping by! I look forward to meeting some new bloggers this weekend! Leave a comment and I will be sure to stop by and visit your blog too.

Hello,
Blog Hoppin! Matther M. cutie!

Lots of fears… none that I’d like to get into right now, I’m scared to.

One time, I picked up a cockroach – between my butt cheeks. I screamed like a little you-know-what!! So yeah, I can relate.
My big fear is losing another one of my children. I’m scared of heights, the dark, going too fast on a ride… I’m a chicken. Guess I know where my kids get it!

I didn’t go that long before I noticed the spider but yeah, similar experience. Mine dropped from the pool ceiling into the top part of my swim suit. I was trying to lead the Senior Citizens in their water aerobics & Wham! Black spider crawling around down in my bra. I ran screaming into the women’s shower & stripped.
My heart is definitely going out to you! That was a terrifying experience & if I drank wine I’d probably drink that other half of the bottle for you!

What about Leo???

Looking at a spider doesn’t bother me but when I have one on me I freak. I’ve had them in my hair and then all day I keep shaking my head thinking more will fall out. Keep an eye on the bite to make sure it doesn’t swell.

Ummm being alone at night. My husband is currently at a 4 week training and
I have been so scared every night. I hear every noice in the neighborhood!

Someone needs to tell James McAvoy to wash his upper lip. Oh wait… has he finally hit puberty?????
[Reply]
OMGosh! I hate spiders! Yuck! Glad you got it out though
Just think if you had slept with it — guess there are worse things!
Other fears? snakes. Can’t stand them. Ugh. Suddenly my back is itching — right above my underwear.

Just reading that give me the hebejebes! I would have had to drink at least a half bottle of wine too!

I don’t usually fantasize about celebs either….but they’re certainly cute!
I’m an old lady! I have teenagers…..most of those guys could be my baby!
As in….I gave birth to them baby! heehee

I love your Friday Eye Candy posts. I should submit mine for next week! But they are all the same as yours, right? OK so I went to the Twilight Experience thing last night in San Diego and was in the same room as Rob. Still haven’t met him yet, but that is my goal. Yeah I really am not a creepy stalker, normally.
And if I could have convinced my husband to go, I was in London when James McAvoy was doing Three Days of Rain and I wanted to go outside the theater and meet him. Love him so much.
Yeah, I just went on way too long about that. Thanks for the regular dose of Gosling. Always appreciated.

I am very afraid of spiders, even itty bitty ones. And I absolutely am terrified when it comes to public speaking. Hate it!

OMGoodness! Glad you are okay! How freaky!!!!

No real fear but…we still haven’t caught the lizard that has been running around my house for a week! I haven’t seen or heard him in a few days so….who knows where he is.

I can’t stand spiders. A few months ago I had them crawling on me at least 5 times in about 2 weeks and now I am beyond paranoid every time I “think” I feel something crawling on me.

First of all I really need to thank you, Jen. I had recently stepped out of a stressful situation in the OR, and decided to sit down, have a cup of Joe and check my emails…. anyway, one thing led to another and I ended checking out your blog. God that was sooo funny… i mean, I get that it wasn’t a pleasant situation for you, but just reading about it, and they way you decided to drink half a bottle of wine to clear your mind from the traumatic event.. it just made me roll off my seat with laughter. Honestly, you’ve eased all the tension i had. So, thank you…. thank you ever so much.
As to fears… i guess I have the usual ones: tarantulas, poisonous snakes, rats (ughhh) and Argentine politicians ( not necessarily in that order)

I would have completely lost my mind. I usually throw shoes at spiders from across the room!
[Reply]
I have a fear of being stuck in an elevator. Quite embarrassing to have panic attacks in front of the kids.
[Reply]
I am terrified of spiders. I would have died right there. Also a little scared of 1500 chatty women.

I am loving what I see here!
Hope you get a chance to stop by my blog. Leave me a note to let me know you were there.

Oiy vey!
I’d have drank an entire liquor store after something like that. Seriously. I’m squirming just THINKING about it.
[Reply]
I’m afraid of spiders. And, also of being in deep water – I’m fine if my feet can touch the bottom, but, if it’s any deeper, I will have a serious panic attack.
[Reply]
I have a phobia of roaches. Last week we had a huge one in the house and I tried to bribe my 7 year old to kill it.
[Reply]
ok you’re going to think I’m nuts but my fear – it’s FROGS!!! I hate them. lol
[Reply]
I just love your eye candy posts! I am afraid of all three of those things. But in all honesty, if I could get sponsored to next year’s conference, I would go just to get away for a weekend! I wouldn’t pay for it out of my own pocket though.
[Reply]
half bottle of wine starring at Ryan Gosling is worth a spider bite, in my opinion
[Reply]
I hate spiders! Did you freak out or handle it calmly? I totally would have gone insane. Nice eye candy!
[Reply]
Oh NO! Spider bite…in the underwear zone. I hope the wine helped! Visiting from BH 09. Have a great weekend.
[Reply]
Oh, that spider would have freaked me out too! I hate creepy crawlers! It’s nice to meet you!
[Reply]
You poor thing!!! I would totally be freaking out!!!
Happy hopping!

Stopping by from the blog hop to say hello. I can’t stand spiders. They creep me out. They always have a way of finding me and dropping right in front of me.

Hooorah for Friday Eye Candy!!!
Darn Spiders in your drawers…if it makes you feel any better I had a darn snake leap at me this afternoon as I was walking up the stairs to my house It missed but I started screaming like a maniac which apparently confused the snake and caused him to slither under my house. UNDER MY HOUSE! I fear I may wake up to find a snake in my toliet or something. I just can’t handle it.
[Reply]
Yeah I’d be drinking heavily after that myself (except that I’m nursing so I guess I’d just put it on my To Do In One Year list). I am not a fan of bugs, but for me the bigger bug related fear is in having to kill them – I’m terrified that they will attack me back or that their family will be coming out in full Bug Mafia form.

Yum! Stopping by from the blog hop! thanks for the eye candy for my journey!

Hopping by…EWWW on the spider thing…can’t say I like them at all and would especially flip out if was in my pants…Hope you had a great weekend.

Adoring the eye candy!
Sigh.

Sorry about that wretched beast that attempted to take up residence in your undies….I don’t know that I would have ever recovered…..
Stopped by from BlogHop…won’t you return the visit??

OH MY GAWD SPIDERS!!!!
*shudders*
I am seriously arachnophobic. Like, could not watch ads for the movie Charlotte’s Web. And it’s a fake spider! Horrid. So horrid.
And in your underwear?!?!??!!
*dies*

Yes, drinking half a bottle of wine on Thursday night isn’t good, but a spider in butt your pants is much worse! Don’t feel bad.
Thanks for listing my baby James McAvoy on your list (I would have put him 1st though.
Like some of your commentors, I too am of a certain age & head over heels for the young James!
TO ALL JAMES MCAVOY FANS—in case you aren’t aware there are tons of great videos of him with hot music backgrounds. Check them out!
“Cheers”!!
