i think it’s drugs. I feel like anytime people wear sunglasses and they don’t need to (indoors, late at night, etc)., it’s either drugs , drinking… etc.

I’m going with ACT. It’s ALL an act. Knowing how much Joaqin hates the media and the whole show business act, I’m really starting to think that he’s seeing how far he can push the boundaries and how much everyone, Hollywood and fans alike, will take. If you watch this with that in mind, not only is it funny to watch (and not uncomfortable and WEIRD) but you can see moments where he seems to relax in his “act” a little and other times when he’s pushing it to the max.

Course, it could equally be any of the reasons you’ve listed… I just choose ACT because it’s the easiest pill to swallow.

That, and I love his movie characters and think he’s a great actor. Don’t want to seem him fall off the deep end like he did that stage!

I read a comment somewhere that said he is trying to be like Andy Kaufman and live through some sort of alter-ego. I think that makes sense. He seems like he is really trying to escape from reality. Although I feel sorry for him, I still find the whole thing comical. I guess I just can’t believe that it is for real. I keep thinking that Ashton is going to come out and say we were all punk’d. At least that is what I’m hoping.

I saw the interview last night and had to put it on mute a few times, it was so painful to watch. I think he was putting on a weird act; for what reason I can’t say, but I think Dave was playing along. The Phoenix’s are wierd, though, that’s for sure.
