Monday Mentions (with retro GosWatch)
Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas!
I’ve been trying to stay off the computer as much as possible this week so I don’t have much to share in the way of links.
Luckily my good friend and a fellow Gos-lover sent me a gem of a clip that is a total blast from Ryan’s past and I couldn’t resist posting it on here. It is from Ryan’s days on the cheesy teen drama Breaker High. The clip is only about one minute long–just push play and it will cue up to the right part (about 3:15).
WARNING: You may want to sit down and get out some crackers to snack on while you are watching this because there is a plethora of cheese in this clip.
Ok, so let’s discuss.
I find myself on the fence. I’m having this internal debate with myself. Part of me is completely in awe of his sexy dance moves and confidence. This part of me wishes he would snap his finger at me and slide his way into my bedroom wearing that pimp hat. Then the other part wants to scrape my eyeballs to try and erase this dreadful image of Ryan from my mind.
Where do you stand on this controversial issue? Young, slick, dancing Ryan–hot or not?

OMG! It’s weird seeing a different kind of Ryan,( a younger version), and yet he still has that unique voice and that cute face…. I just watched one of the Breaker High clips from the link you sent called: He Shoots, He Scores, Part 3… Did you see this one yet, Jen? It is good. And Ryan is on this clip for quite a bit of time, He sorta has a “bowl cut” going on.
Now I’m tempted to watch all the Breaker High clips just to watch for him.
Sigh, I’m trying not to like him. Have a happy new year!

I think I was on the fence for a few minutes, then I fell right off of it!! Probably too cheesy I think, but definitely fun to watch him as a young, “hip” dude
I bet sometimes he wishes he could erase all these old clips!! Oh well, it’s a part of how he became a big star!

wth is this show? I’ve never heard of it but that one clip annoyed me. Wow. And the dance scene? Cuz that’s just like real life. I swear that’s what my ten year old imagines high school (aboard a ship, no less) to play out like. was the show written by 10 year olds?
but yeah, to a 10 year old he’d be all suave and sexy. to a 33 year old, I don’t care if it is Ryan Gosling- nope.

I don’t think you can really hold things he did when he was younger against him. I mean, we all did stupid things. At the time it may have been a good career move….

I am disturbed and entranced all at the same time…. He’s smooth and confident, choreographed to perfection and, of course, we ARE watching the Gos afterall… but somehow I’m a little skeeved out… just a little.
I do like the parts where he chooses his dance partner by offering his hand. That’s most intriguing.

Dancing Ryan – hot! In fact he is the only good thing about this clip! I so love a group dance in a film, think SHE”S ALL THAT etc And remember he did have his beginnings as a mouseketeer, so he is lucky to have escaped so lightly!!!
