GosWatch: Sundance
It is Monday and for me that usually means my weekly cleaning. Yet, I can’t seem to pull myself away from the computer because images of Ryan Gosling at the Sundance Film Festival have been pouring in all morning.
Images that almost prevent me from breathing, let alone dusting and vacuuming. Images like this one:
And this one:
And this one:
I have to say that most of these images make me feel so full of love and joy that I can barely contain myself. Sometimes I feel as though my heart can’t handle it anymore and may one day explode.
Yet, I will admit that there is a darker side to this obsession. At times, I look at the images and feel a little envy too. I’ll admit it. I am envious of Michelle Williams in this photo:
I’m even envious of this little girl that Ryan carries in his strong, protective arms. Is it weird that I want to be that little girl?
I already know the answer is yes. Yes, it is very weird. Do you think that would stop me from admitting that I’m also a little jealous of this inner tube too?
Friday Eye Candy: Jared Leto–Hot or Not?
I started this blog post with the intention of featuring a gallery of the cutest Capricorn guys, but I quickly got sidetracked by one specific Capricorn. Because of my tendencies to get easily distracted by a pair of beautiful, blue eyes I will now dedicate this post to:
Ahhh..Jared Leto. Where do I even begin? I fell into your spell many years ago. It was the same spell that you cast on Angela Chase and pretty much all females everywhere with your flawless portrayal of Jordan Catalano.
I’m sorry but you can’t even tell me that you wouldn’t sell your left kidney to walk down the hall holding Jordan Catalano’s hand (I’d probably sell both to make out with him in the boiler room). I know I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Bye-bye Kidney. Hello Mr. Catalano!
After they cancelled “My So Called Life” I was devastated. I fell into a dark pit of despair and almost gave up on tv watching altogether. How could they end the series after only one perfect year? I still get enraged when I think about it.
If that wasn’t terrible enough, in the years following the series my beautiful Jordan Jared started experimenting with some really random and not so appealing looks ( in my humble opinion).
These were not my favorite looks for Jared.
As the years went by I almost gave up hope on Jared, but just recently I have started seeing some photos surface of him that have made me take a second look (and a third and a fourth and a fifth).
So, I am hereby re-proclaiming my love for Jared Leto. Let us rejoice in his hotness!!
So, where do you stand? Jared Leto: HOT or NOT????
Oh, and in case you were wondering who the other cute Capricorns that were to be featured on my original post, here they are:
Denzel Washington
Jude Law
Joe McIntyre
Mel Gibson
Orlando Bloom
Patrick Dempsey
Jason Bateman
L.L. Cool J
Sorry guys.
Friday Eye Candy: My Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 (Part 3)
Uh oh…
Leap Year isn’t exactly bringing in the rave reviews. This doesn’t really make me want to rush right out and pay $10 to see it. So it looks like I’ll just be waiting for that one until it comes out on dvd.
Now don’t get me wrong. I don’t always trust the critics’ opinions. I mean Serendipity and The Notebook weren’t exactly embraced by the critics either. This clearly means one of two things–either I have no taste in movies or most critics are heartless fools. I believe the latter.
Now for the final most anticipated movie of 2010, it is going to have to be:
5. Valentine’s Day
I already have my doubts about this movie for several reasons. First of all, I feel like they are trying to copy the Love Actually formula.
- Gather together as many famous actors/actresses as possible…check
- Put them in various stories about relationships and love…check
- Revolve the stories around one central holiday theme…check
- Bonus Points for throwing in a cute kid with a crush too….check
The posters are even eerily similar:
And yet, I still really want to see this movie. Take a look at the trailer and tell me what you think:
Cute, right?
And did you see all that beautiful eye candy? That may be worth the $10 admission charge alone:
Ashton Kutcher
Topher Grace
(Editor’s Note: I have a very strange and complex attraction to Topher Grace. When I see him on “That 70’s Show” I am almost repulsed by him, but when I watch him in movies I find him seriously sexy. What is wrong with me?)
McDreamy (i.e. Patrick Dempsey)
McSteamy (i.e. Eric Dane)
Bradley Cooper
So, let’s recap…
My Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 are:
1. Blue Valentine ( release date: Spring 2010)
2. Inception ( release date: July 16, 2010)
3. Leap Year (in theaters now)
4. Eclipse (release date: June 30, 2010)
5. Valentine’s Day (release date: February 12, 2010)
And finally, a few movies that just missed the cut but I’m still looking forward to seeing:
-Sex and the City 2
-Alice in Wonderland
-Letters to Juliet
-Hot Tub Time Machine
Monday Mentions: Becks Edition
I was so excited that one of my favorite bloggers–Carol from Siswick Construction Zone–decided to resurrect her blog for 2010. I’ve always enjoyed her posts and am glad to see she is back.
I am pretty sure that I’m not the only one who is glad to see that Carol is back to blogging. I’m thinking that David Beckham is also a loyal reader. Yet, he may have been a little distressed about one of her recent posts about him.
Carol wrote this clever post about how Becks is purposely trying to repel women with his hideous new haircut and beard (and you know I’m a fan of the beard, but yuck) and he must have read it, because he retaliated BIG TIME.
Check out these delicious photos of him taking his shirt and pants off in the middle of the soccer game:
50,000,000 points for Beckham!!!
The only thing that is a bit distracting about this picture is the Jesus tattoo. I like a little less Son of God when I’m fantasizing about licking his rock hard abs. It sort of ruins the mood for me.
Friday Eye Candy: My Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 (Part 2)
If you missed part 1 of this list (Most Anticipated Movies #1-3), feel free to go here to catch up.
4. Leap Year
This movie has 3 things going for it:
1. Amy Adams (I ♥ her.)
2. Beautiful setting (something tells me I will be researching a trip to Ireland after seeing this movie.)
3. Cute boy with scruffy beard. (See below)
Now, do I think this movie will be predictable? Yes. Do I think this movie will be cheesey? Of course. Do I still want to see it? DEFINITELY!!
I’m a huge sucker for romantic comedies and I think 2010 is going to be like a renaissance for this genre (which, in my opinion with the exception of a few gems, has gotten a bit stale lately.)
Now, back to #3–Matthew Goode….Oh my goodness!! Where has this guy been hiding all my life? Well, hello there Mr. Goode. It is VERY nice to meet you! I look forward to getting to know you more.
4. Eclipse
I can’t help it. Despite being incredibly disappointed in the first two installments of the Twilight movie saga (in comparison to the books) I am holding out some hope that they will wow me with the third one. This is probably my favorite book in the series. I love the way the Edward-Bella-Jacob love triangle unfolds and I have two words for you:
TENT SCENE!!!!
All I can say is they had better get this scene right!!
And since it is Friday Eye Candy, how about some random Rob pics:
That last one is my personal favorite Rob pic, I think of ALL TIME!! He looks so gorgeous here.
I do have one more movie on my list, but it will require its own separate post so stay tuned for Part 3….coming soon!
Conveyor Belt of Love: Genius or Atrocious?
I can’t decide. I watched this show last night due to a strange twist of fate of my tivo being broken and being stuck watching regular tv with (gasp) commercials. I regret to say that the end result is that I think I might be hooked on this ridiculous show.
If you didn’t watch it, allow me to introduce you to Conveyor Belt of Love:
The concept is simple.
Five girls sit up on a stage in front of a huge conveyor belt. Then the belt starts moving and out rolls the men one at a time. The guys step off the belt and do their best to try to “woo” the girls. Now this is where the show gets a bit quirky. The people in charge of casting for this show found an eclectic mix of men. They run the gamut from total losers to circus freaks to normal guys to incredibly adorable guys. Just to give you an idea, this one guy recited a poem about taking a bath in a tub of milk. I have no idea why he would think this would be sexy or romantic. The thought of this makes me nauseous. So many times I looked over at Brad and said, “Is this what guys truly think women want?”
But don’t worry, there were plenty of really cute guys too. For example, my personal favorite:
(Note: I may be willing to reconsider my stance on milk baths for him.)
So, after a few minutes of “wooing” and “questioning, the ladies then hold up a sign that says either interested or not interested. If more than one girl chooses the same guy, it is up to the guy to make the choice on which girl he wants to date.
The ladies can replace a guy if a new guy comes rolling out that they like more (which I think is kind of cruel and made me feel very sad, especially when cute sweater boy above left). After the girls have seen all the guys and made their selections, they go on a date with their guy. The final 10 minutes of the show is highlights from the dates where you can see just how well the picks worked out.
This show kind of reminds me a little of Love Connection with Chuck Woolery. God, I loved that show. One summer I was totally obsessed with it and watched it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I’d probably still be watching it today if they ever brought it back. (Note to self: Start a petition to bring back Love Connection.)
Ok, so back to CBOL, the funny thing is that the one couple that I really didn’t think were going to hit it off (mouthy Asian chick and speedo dog guy) actually really clicked in the end. It was a match made in reality show heaven. And I loved when she said “I want you to worship me,” after what seemed like maybe five minutes on the date. Good stuff!
I think ABC may have struck reality GOLD with this show!!
Please tell me I’m not the only one to watch (and sorta like) Conveyor Belt of Love. If you watched, what did you think? Will you watch again?
Friday Eye Candy: My Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 (Part 1)
I’m going on record in saying that 2010 is going to be a great year for movies. Do I have any basis for making this prediction? Absolutely not. I’m just super excited about a ton of movies that are due out this year. So without further adieu here is Part 1 of a list of MY most anticipated movies of 2010.
1. Blue Valentine
Ok, let’s just get this over with. You know this one is going to be number one. Ryan has two movies coming out this year (All Good Things and Blue Valentine) but this is the one I’m most looking forward to. It is being described as “an intimate, shattering portrait of a disintegrating marriage” . In other words, this means that I’m going to have to bribe Brad to see it with me because my own marriage will disintegrate if I make him sit through one more depressing, indie G0s-film without the promise of sexual favors.
Seriously though, I will be there on opening night to see this movie for this scene alone:
SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!
2. Inception
I know most people are excited about seeing this movie because of the director (blah, blah, blah, Christopher Nolan from The Dark Knight, blah, blah, blah). That’s all fine, well and good, but here are my two reasons for wanting to see this movie:
And as an added bonus, I found this Leo kissing scene. You all may remember that I believe that he is the best kisser in the universe (sorry Ryan, but I’m pretty sure that Leo has you beat in this department).
If you want further proof on Leo’s kissing skills, see this video.
3. Eat, Pray, Love
I loved the book and I know I should prepare myself for the worst. Most of the time they destroy the story when they try to bring it to the screen (ahem…Twilight/New Moon…ahem), but I’m still remaining optimistic about this one.
And if they really ruin it, hopefully the travel eye candy will make up for whatever damage is done. I’m especially looking forward to taking the trip to Italy, India and Indonesia with Elizabeth (Julia Roberts) and seeing the absolutely breathtaking scenery since I’ve yet to travel to any of these places myself.
And it doesn’t hurt that Javier Bardem, Billy Crudup and James Franco are in it either.
Ok, I need to go for now, but stay tuned for part 2 of this list coming soon….
What movies are you looking forward to this year?
