Friday Eye Candy: My Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 (Part 3)
Uh oh…
Leap Year isn’t exactly bringing in the rave reviews. This doesn’t really make me want to rush right out and pay $10 to see it. So it looks like I’ll just be waiting for that one until it comes out on dvd.
Now don’t get me wrong. I don’t always trust the critics’ opinions. I mean Serendipity and The Notebook weren’t exactly embraced by the critics either. This clearly means one of two things–either I have no taste in movies or most critics are heartless fools. I believe the latter.
Now for the final most anticipated movie of 2010, it is going to have to be:
5. Valentine’s Day
I already have my doubts about this movie for several reasons. First of all, I feel like they are trying to copy the Love Actually formula.
- Gather together as many famous actors/actresses as possible…check
- Put them in various stories about relationships and love…check
- Revolve the stories around one central holiday theme…check
- Bonus Points for throwing in a cute kid with a crush too….check
The posters are even eerily similar:
And yet, I still really want to see this movie. Take a look at the trailer and tell me what you think:
Cute, right?
And did you see all that beautiful eye candy? That may be worth the $10 admission charge alone:
Ashton Kutcher
Topher Grace
(Editor’s Note: I have a very strange and complex attraction to Topher Grace. When I see him on “That 70’s Show” I am almost repulsed by him, but when I watch him in movies I find him seriously sexy. What is wrong with me?)
McDreamy (i.e. Patrick Dempsey)
McSteamy (i.e. Eric Dane)
Bradley Cooper
So, let’s recap…
My Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 are:
1. Blue Valentine ( release date: Spring 2010)
2. Inception ( release date: July 16, 2010)
3. Leap Year (in theaters now)
4. Eclipse (release date: June 30, 2010)
5. Valentine’s Day (release date: February 12, 2010)
And finally, a few movies that just missed the cut but I’m still looking forward to seeing:
-Sex and the City 2
-Alice in Wonderland
-Letters to Juliet
-Hot Tub Time Machine

Got something to say?

Topher Grace IS sexy… He also has great hands. But not really on that 70’s show. you aren’t alone on this feeling.
I totally want to see this movie. it scares me in re: to character depth, but I’m still way excited!
As much as i love amy adams, i don’t think Leap year will be even remotely good. granted, I’m a critic- BUT it just looks like it fits neatly into the category I am dubbing the “writer’s strike” scripts… *sigh* My ten year old saw the trailer and said “that looks so stupid!” and she’s TEN. (and crushes on the idea of love so hard core)…

I want to see “Valentine’s Day”, too. Yes, it does bear similarities to “Love, Actually”… but that may be a good thing!
I didn’t watch the show, but I want to see the upcoming “A-Team” movie… for this reason alone: Bradley Cooper’s abs.

Yeah I saw McDreamy in the previews for Valentines Day and I knew I was fair game. I’ll still probably have to rent it, and all the others, but see them? Definitely.

I can’t wait to see Valentine’s Day! I am right there with you… I think it definitely mirrors Love Actually…. which lies in my list of top five favorite movies ever. I’m excited to see Valentine’s Day… but hope that I am able to refrain from comparing it to Love Actually! : )

SATC 2 is high on my list!!!!!

On the one hand, yes, they’re copying Love Actually….but on the other hand, that was like my favorite movie ever, so another one like it would be good.
And: Channing Tatum. I just like to write his name. Mrs. Channing Tatum. Sue Tatum. Happy Hour Sue Tatum.

Dear John is STILL missing from your list…..
I agree on the Topher thing—feel the same way!
I guess I will eventually rent Vtine day but it just seems like a MESS to me and I am not really interested in seeing it.

I immediately thought of Love Actually when I saw the trailer the other night. It will have to be pretty good to top it for me. LA is one of my favorites! But, yeah, the eye candy is definitely good!

OMG I thought I was the only one that thought that way about Topher Grace lol. I justift it by saying that h was ‘weedy’ and ‘yet to get some muscle’ in That 70s Show…that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it! haha. But I definitely agree with you on Mc McDreamy! YUMMY!

I’m 100% with you on the Topher Grace thing. Movies, YES. 70’s Show, NO!
And I must have been ignoring the similarities between Valentine’s Day and Love Actually, but you’re definitely on to something. I hope Valentine’s Day can live up to the extremely high bar that LA has set! That’s one of my fave movies of all time!
And can I just end with Bradley Cooper…YUM!
