Snowtorious B.I.G.
It has been quite the week around here. Over the past five days or so, we have gotten almost four feet of snow. That brings our total to 79 inches this winter. I’m not sure what Maryland did to piss off Mother Nature but it is INSANE!
People have been calling it Snowmaggedon, the Snowpocalypse, and my personal favorite–Snowtorious B.I.G. (In case you didn’t know, there are a plethora of ways to add the word “snow” to words and phrases to make clever little nicknames.)
Brad has only been in to work one day this week and the kids have had off school the entire week. At this rate, they will still be in school way into the summer and will be lucky if they get the Fourth of July off.
This is the what my street looked like yesterday:
My friends on Facebook are posting status updates like “Red rum. Red rum.” They seem to be getting a bit of cabin fever being trapped in their houses.
I am not among them. I am thrilled with being snowed in! I love not having to go anywhere or do anything. I love not having any obligations and just relaxing. Winter is supposed to be about hibernating, right? I am content to stay in my comfy, elastic pants all day. Buttons and zippers are way overrated.
I have been feeling like I’m in a bit of a time warp though. I woke up yesterday thinking it was Thursday and was getting all excited for the new Survivor: Heroes vs Villains only to find out that it was actually Wednesday. It is a little weird not having any idea what day it was since the days are just blurring together into one big ball of snow at this point.
Luckily, today is actually Thursday and it is time for Survivor. How excited are you about this?!?! I am, of course, rooting for Boston Rob to go all the way. I haven’t watched this show in forever, but Boston Rob is enough to make me tune in again. There is something about his adorable accent, even if he has absolutely nothing at all to say that makes him completely endearing.
The opposite of endearing is John Mayer. What the heck is up with his mouth lately? A few weeks ago I had a really long wait in the dentist’s office so I read through his interview in Rolling Stone where he talks about masterbating and pitching tents on vaginas. Now he is at it again talking about Jessica Simpson being sexual Napum. Is this a compliment or an insult? I have absolutely no idea what he is even talking about, but I know that as a woman I’m supposed to be offended. Right?
That about wraps it up. Since I’m pretty much stuck inside with no place to go please entertain me by leaving me a comment. Tell me, will you be watching Survivor tonight? What are your thoughts on John Mayer? What is the weather like where you live?
PS In case you were wondering…Ryan Gosling is still hot:
PPS. So is Leo (although I’m thinking he may need to rethink his stance on global warming–see above photo.):

Got something to say?

I am SO tired of the Snowpacolypse, but my excitement about Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains makes up for it.

Oh I am sick to death of snow. I didnt mind the snowed in part except for the major roadblocks it caused for my business (ie orders not being delivered and no mail service to ship them either!) PLUS my dh has major cabin fever and turns into a HUGE grumpy bear when confined for anywhere close to 24 hrs and of course its been longer than that.
I was so disappointed earlier this wk.. I saw that the Notebook was on—thought YES, perfect way to spend a snowy afternoon… then I realized we did not get that channel. Of course I do have it on DVD but somehow it wasnt the same.
As for John Mayer… CAN.NOT.STAND.HIM. YUCK!!!

I’m SO tired of the snow too! We got totally dumped on this week too, but I still have to go to work. The stupid hospital NEVER closes!
John Mayer = douchebag…..but I still like his music which is totally hypocritical

Hey Jen, I’m always checking out your blog because I share your love for Ryan, but your pps above the Leo pic is what has compelled me to drop a comment… are you implying that the recent snow storms are not related to global warming?! They are one and the same- read a few scientific journals on recent extreme weather, including blizzards, then tell Leo you’re sorry!

I have not liked John Mayer in the past, I do not like him in the present, and I’m fairly certain I will not like him in the future–especially if he keeps up with the mouth…. ick…
That having been said, I will risk life and limb to tell you that we have less than an inch of snow here in Western Massachusetts…. We were supposed to get 10-12 inches a few days ago and it caused widespread panic. My daughter’s school was cancelled before the first flake was airborne, grocery stores ran out of canned goods and emergency candles, my husband located the generators and extra blankets in preparation to be snowed in (I was actually looking forward to it). Hell, the horses wouldn’t even come out of the barn… And what did we get?? NOTHING. But, hey, it made for a great day of watching movies and hanging out with the kids….
And, yes, Ryan Gosling is still hot.

About the global warming… I heard that’s why we are getting pounded with snow, b/c of global warming. The desicration (I probably didn’t spell that right, but dont’ want to take the time to look it up) of the earth’s core and surrounding layers is making everything shift. Almost like, in lets say, 1,000 years Baltimore may be the new North Pole and if polar bears want to survive they will have to migrate to Baltimore and we’ll be living on the North Pole with “normal” weather. Does that make any sense??

holy hell, Jen! How will Ryan get to you if you don’t clear all of that snow?
I love snow, but do not envy you East Coasters this year.

Don’t forget, Ryan’s from Canada… Probably used to dealing with snow–nothing can keep him from his destiny!
