This is my 100th post!! In keeping with tradition, I will reluctantly post a list of 100 things about me. Warning, this will probably be the most boring thing you’ve ever read in your life:

I love making lists, so this should be fun!

I was born in 1974 and my name is Jennifer (along with 5 million other girls born that year). Why mom, why would you do this to me??

My dad wanted to call me Gwenevere.

Sometimes I wish he would have put his foot down about that one. (And back then dads put their feet down about these things.) Gwenevere sounds way more mysterious than Jennifer.

I’m not very mysterious.

I have 1 husband, 2 kids, and 2 cats who I love more than anything in the whole world.

That last line makes it sound like my life is perfect and it isn’t. They get on my nerves sometimes, but overall I do consider myself very grateful.

I am a Libra and possess the usual Libran traits of being diplomatic, idealistic, gullible, indecisive and romantic.

Especially the indecisive part.

As a child I was painfully shy, but not so much as an adult.

I still take a long time to warm up to people and prefer small groups of people to large groups.

I was born in Maryland and this is the only place I have ever lived.

I like MD except that it is too cold in the winter.

I hate winter and would move to Florida if my husband would agree to it.

Living in MD is too far from Disney World.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Disney World.

I have an unhealthy obsession for lots of things, but most notably:

I love Ryan Gosling

While we are on the subject of turn-ons, I have a weird fetish for guys wearing fleece pullovers:

My husband owns many fleece pullovers.

Luckily I’ve never seen Ryan in a fleece pullover because I think I would spontaneously combust from the combined hotness factor.

I’m not allergic to anything.

Except cleaning my house (not really, but I wish that I was so that I would have a better excuse for not doing it very often.)

I truly despise cleaning my house and would have domestic “staff” if I won the lottery.

It really wouldn’t take an entire ”staff” because I live in a very tiny house. (But if I won the lottery I would most likely have a bigger house, thus the need for a “staff”. Plus I like the way it sounds. I would be kind to my “staff”.)

The second thing I would spend my lottery winnings on would be laser hair removal treatments.

It would take a lot of appointments before all of my unwanted hair was gone. I’m so sick of shaving, plucking, waxing, etc.. it makes me crazy.

I’ll never own a dog. I’m not a dog person. I don’t wish them any harm but they do irk me a little with all their panting and drooling and needing to go outside to pee. No animal is worth waking up to let outside to pee.

I will probably always own a cat (or two or three) because they pee in a box and generally don’t annoy me.

While we are on the subject of things that annoy me, football season annoys me.

Hooters, strip clubs, bikini contests, girls gone wild and Howard Stern really annoy me.

I used to be a fourth grade teacher before having kids.

My career as a teacher is on hold because I’ve discovered that kids kind of annoy me.

Lots of things annoy me. (This list should be titled 100 things that annoy me.)

But my biggest pet peeve is tongue rings. I can’t stand to watch someone talk with a tongue ring.

That is why I try hard not to watch Mtv. Too many people on Mtv have tongue rings and it makes my skin crawl.

I’m not really scared of anything.

Except big projects. Big projects terrify me. So I avoid them like the plague.

This is why I’ll probably never finish my Disney scrapbook.

I have a love/hate relationship with scrapbooking. I love to see other people’s masterpieces, but I hate to do my own.

My other lifelong dream is to live on the water (preferably in a giant beach house).

I love to plan vacations, take vacations, talk about vacations and think about vacations.

Sometimes I think planning the vacation is more fun than actually taking the vacation.

I guess that is why my current job is a travel planning specialist.

Although I love, love, LOVE Disney World, my ultimate dream is to visit Hawaii.

This is because of the three part Brady Bunch episode.

If I ever get there I will wear an ancient island tiki monster around my neck most of the time and people will either love it or think it’s stupid. Either way it is my dream and I will do it.

I would also like to visit Alaska, Italy, Costa Rica, All the US National parks, and Peru before I die.

I like to stalk celebrities.

Being a paparazzi seems like a fun and exciting career choice. If I wasn’t a travel planning specialist, this might be another possibility.

I’ve met and had my picture taken with Matt Damon, Ace Young and Joaquin Phonix all because of my celebrity stalking tendencies.

I’ve also met Sean Astin (son of Gomez Adams-one of my first celebrity crushes) but didn’t have to stalk him because we were staying in the same hotel in NYC.

I almost met Russell Crowe, but didn’t approach him because I was scared he’d throw his cell phone at me.

Sadly, I haven’t met Ryan Gosling or James McAvoy.

I think about meeting them multiple times a day.

I’ve always been boy crazy. In addition to Gomez Adams, I was obsessed with Jack Tripper as a little girl. I wrote my first “fan letter” at age 5.

I’m not a morning person. Never have been. Probably never will be.

I went bungee jumping once when I was in college and I have now committed to never, EVER jump off anything again!

I do love rollercoasters. The taller and faster the better. My current favorite is Magnum at Cedar Point in Ohio.

Speaking of doing crazy things, I chose to deliver my daughter naturally (no epidural, drugs, etc..). I still love her.

I have a major problem with procrastination. I seriously think that I’d put off breathing if I knew that I wouldn’t die.

I’m a total clutz and many of my embarrassing moments involved spilling things or tripping over things.

My first memory as a child was because of being a clutz. I was pushing a swing and it came back and hit me in the forehead. I needed a bunch of stitches and to be strapped down to the gurney because I was freaking out so much. I was about 3 years old.

My most embarrassing moment was unrelated to my clutzy tentencies, but involved a tampon and is too embarrassing to even write about.

I’ve never tried smoking a cigarette. I hate cigarettes.

I’ve also never tried drugs. Ditto on the hate.

I do drink alcohol on occasion (see I’m not a total dud) and prefer red wine.

I need to learn the word moderation when I’m drinking red wine. And Tequila Boom Booms.

I don’t like coffee. Even if you put pumpkins, gingerbread men or whatever monthly special Starbuck’s ingredient into it. No matter what it is still gross to me.

I could drink Coke Zero all day, everyday!! I only like to drink my Coke Zero over ice-never, ever directly from the can. That is breaking the cardinal rule of soda drinking.

My favorite food is chocolate chip cookies (but really just because of the chocolate chips so I should probably just say that chocolate chips are my favorite food).

I love McDonalds and hate Chick Fil A (I know hate is a strong word, so I guess I should just say I strongly dislike their food, but I do like that they are closed on Sundays. I think that is kind of nice. Oh and I like their kids’ meal toys that are educational, but I always trade them in for the ice cream. But I think it is nice that they try to educate my kids. I guess I don’t really hate them.)

At McDonald’s, I usually order a quarter pounder with cheese. And fries. I think having the choice of apples as a side item is kind of mean since it is McDonald’s for crying out loud!!!

I wish I ate healthier.

I wish I didn’t like hamburgers so much so that I could be a vegetarian.

Other than eating meat, I do try hard not to kill things on a daily basis. I don’t even squash bugs. Instead I capture them in a cup and carry them outside to be free. Even ants.

I don’t have a green thumb. At all. Plants start wilting when I even walk by them at the nursery.

Sometimes I’m surprised my kids are still here and healthy given my track record with plants.

I try to live a “green” lifestyle, but only if it doesn’t take too much extra effort. (ie I drive to the bus stop to pick up my kids instead of walking the few blocks)

I’m pretty lazy.

I don’t have any tattoos or weird piercings.

I was voted best dressed in high school.

Now, I worry that I will chosen to be on that “What Not To Wear” show.

I’m obsessed with all romantic movies.

I could watch Serendipity, You’ve Got Mail, The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice (Colin Firth version only) and Love Actually over and over and over again.

Serendipitous is my favorite word.

My favorite book is The Lovely Bones.

My favorite shows are The Office, LOST, How I Met Your Mother, and American Idol (My favorite shows that are no longer on the air are The Brady Bunch, The Wonder Years, My So Called Life and Dawson’s Creek)

I believe in ghosts, aliens/ufos, past lives and ”The Secret”.

I don’t really believe in Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monster. They can’t possibly be that elusive.

Speaking of beliefs, I’m Catholic.

I am trying to raise my kids Catholic, but don’t succeed on getting to church that often (Not that often pretty much means Easter and Christmas).

I have a lot of Catholic guilt about not getting to church every week.

I consider myself more of a spiritual person than a religious person. I realize how pretentious and stupid that sounds, but I really do believe in God, Jesus and the power of prayer (just not waking up and rushing out the door on Sunday mornings).

I think Oprah and her “New Earth/New Age” religion is interesting, but I think a lot of it can be found in the bible anyway.

I’ve tried meditating and liked it but I just can’t seem to stick with it.

I have a hard time sticking to things that I know are good for me. Exercise is a good example of one of these things.

I can’t sing and not in the cute Cameron Diaz “My Best Friend’s Wedding” karaoke scene kind of way. I really can’t sing.

I only did karaoke one time. It was to “Footloose” and it was as terrible.

I don’t like making lists as much as I thought I did before making this list.

It is way harder than you may think to come up with 100 things about yourself that are even remotely interesting. At least it was for me since I am incredibly boring. This became more and more evident with each word I typed.

So what is this blog all about? Basically, it will be a collection of completely unrelated topics–a hodgepodge of the things that interest me most. If you are interested in any of the following topics, you may want to check back frequently:

Food- Oh how I wish I didn’t love you so much, but alas, I do. This is as good of a place as any to share recipes that our family likes and most likely they’ll be easy to prepare because I’m pretty lazy.

Weight loss and Exercise–Oh how I loathe you exercise, but because of my food obsession I guess I’m going to have to learn how to make peace with you.

Must See Movies/TV –I’m not embarrassed to admit that I do my fair share of movie/tv watching. To balance it out, I try to watch a vast variety of shows and films from American Idol to PBS Masterpiece Theater; from Hotel Rwanda to Wedding Crashers.

Books, Books and More Books –I love to read and my husband–not so much. So I need somewhere to blab about the books I’m reading. Plus, I’ll have to balance out my incessant yammering about all things on the tube.

Frugal Finds–Because I’m cheap. Period.

Inexpensive Wine Recommendations –If it was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for me. I drink in moderation–only one bottle a night (kidding). So, why am I only talking about inexpensive wines? Did you read #3? (Note: I’d be more than happy to try out a $50+ bottle of wine if anyone would like to send it my way.)

Getting Organized–I love reading organizing books and blogs and I’m a sucker for any new home makeover show (ie Clean House, Mission Organization, etc..). So, you must think I have the most organized house around. Well, my husband would definitely beg to disagree. Now I’m not saying I’m a complete slob, but there are definitely some areas of my home that I’d rather not show to company. So, I’ll be sharing my progress and hopefully some tips along the way that have worked for me on my quest to be a neat freak.

Travel Stories–I work in the travel industry as a family travel planning specialist. I love to see new places, so why not share my experiences here. (*This is where I must warn you that I’m a Disney World addict.)

Pop Culture/Current Events–I can’t promise too much on this front because there are so many other places to get this kind of info and I don’t want to try to even think about keeping up with everything that is going on in the world. For the record, I’m in love with Ryan Gosling and would give away one of my children to spend the night with meet him. Actually I’d give away both of them if he and Rachel McAdams would just get back together already!!

Etc…. Pretty much any other topic that happens to catch my interest

Speaking of my kids, there won’t be any pictures of them on this blog. There are more than enough ”mommy” sites out there and to be honest, my kids aren’t that cute. Just kidding. They’re adorable, but I’m keeping them all to myself.

I hope to post regularly (hence the name DAILY Mish Mash). Just don’t hold your breath on that one because I tend to be a tad bit ADD at times.

Tweet This Post
