November Is Sexy

November is a month for giving thanks.  Thanks for family.  Thanks for friends.  Thanks for sexy guys.

That is why People magazine couldn’t have picked a more perfect month to put out their Sexiest Man Alive edition.

I actually wasn’t going to do a post about this topic.  I kind of thought that Susan and Katelin pretty much had it covered with their recap, but then I visited the website and saw that once again Ryan Gosling had been left off the list.

Hello?!!  People, what the heck is wrong with you?!?!  Do your editor’s not have eyes?

Here is the latest picture of him going to lunch with a friend.  I don’t know how he does it, but he even manages to make riding on an escalator sexy!

And while I’m at it, you can’t tell me that crinkle thing he does isn’t the sexiest thing you’ve ever seen.  Maybe People just didn’t notice it.  Maybe they need me to point it out for them:

The cover and Sexiest Man Alive title went to Hugh Jackman.  He isn’t one of my faves but I can see the appeal.

Overall, I was pretty happy with the rest of the list.  David Beckham. Check.  Rob Pattinson.  GIANT CHECK.  Joshua Jackson.  Surprising, but check.  Mark-Paul Gosselaar.  Um.  Yeah, I’m really not feeling them on that one, but I’m sure there are some die-hard Zach Morris fans out there so I’ll cut them some slack.

It’s a damn good list (even without Ryan Gosling), and I have to admit that I was completely thrilled that Chuck Bass made the list.  (That’s Ed Westwick for non-Gossip Girl fans.)

When I first started watching GG, I wasn’t sure about it.  I thought to myself, “Self, why would you want to get into another teenage drama when you are THIRTY-FOUR FREAKIN’ YEARS OLD!?!?!”

At first I really didn’t like the show because it was so over the top ridiculous with the teenage characters hanging out in hotel bars, drinking martinis and going to masquerade balls, but eventually I caved.  To make a long story short, I’m now completely hooked.  There is so much to love about the show, but the absolute best part is Chuck Bass.

Ed Westwick plays the character so well.  He has perfected his arrogant, awful, womanizing demeanor, but in a way that you can’t help but sort of fall in love him.

Actually, just the other day I was painting my bathroom and I felt like something was off, like I was missing something or forgetting something.  It took me awhile to pinpoint it, but I figured it out.  I needed to get my Chuck Bass fix.  I’m addicted to him.  I can’t get enough of him and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Watching Chuck Bass is like riding an emotional roller coaster and when it’s over you are just left wanting more, more MORE!!  Here are the stages:

Stage 1:  Hate (You are completely disgusted by him and find his pompous attitude a complete turn off.)

Stage 2:  Pity  (You begin to feel sorry for him and wonder if he isn’t such a bad guy after all.)

Stage 3: Lust (You start having fantasies about him that involve scarves and limos or any combination of the two.)

Stage 4: Love (You find yourself wanting to have his babies.)

Repeat Steps 1-4 several times during the course of a single episode.

Friday Eye Candy: Amy’s Picks

Happy Friday!  This week’s list comes from Amy of My Friend Amy.  Her list has a theme…men from across the pond. 

She says, “It’s those darn sexy Irish/Scottish/English accents….sigh.  With the one and only exception of my true love forever Brad Pitt.”

She also thanked me for hosting our lists because she has quite a few heterosexual male readers that she didn’t want to scare off forever.

Speaking of heterosexual male readers, I received a request to post a list from Blake.  I’m thinking that, in all fairness, I need to put his list (of women) up in a few weeks.  What do you think?  Will that ruin Friday Eye Candy forever or can you appreciate the beauty of the female form?

I always thought that my husband would be the first guy’s list to go up, but since he doesn’t show any interest in reading my blog I figure why bother.  His loss.  Our gain.  :) 

I actually showed him the dream date post and he had me laughing hysterically because he asked me if I had fun playing with my Colorforms (do you remember those??).  So, in case you are wondering, he couldn’t care less about Friday Eye Candy and my obsession with The Gos.  If he did, I would never post this stuff.
